UNITED STATES – A life-changing jackpot is on the line – an estimated $1.4 billion is up for grabs in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing.

It’s the sixth-largest lottery prize in U.S. history, fueled by 40 straight drawings without a grand prize winner since May.

The odds of hitting all six numbers is one in 292 million, but smaller prizes are much easier to win.

Most players opt for the cash payout, which this time would be about $634 million.

Tickets cost two dollars, and Powerball is played in 45 states, plus Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
