NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Another major drug bust on the island of Long Island. This time at the Stella Maris Airport.

The drugs were seized during a joint operation between Drug Enforcement Unit Officers, Long Island Police and the U.S. Coast Guard.

The media got a first-hand view of the drugs as they arrived by helicopter at Odessy Aviation on Tuesday Afternoon.

According to police, two Bahamian men were taken into custody in connection with the drug find.

This as cocaine was found on a blue and white Aztec aircraft after midnight on Sunday at the airport.

The estimated street value of the drugs was not provided.

Officer-in-Charge of the Drug Enforcement Unit Superintendent Roberto Goodman says traffickers have been using the southern islands as a means to transport drugs.
