NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A family is grieving tonight after a 15-year-old boy fell victim in a brazen daylight shooting that claimed his life. 

Police tell us the young many was fatally shot while in the company of his older brother. This latest shooting now puts the country’s murder count to 26 for the year.

Shortly after 9 a.m., Grove police officers say they received reports of gunfire in the vicinity of First Street, The Grove. 

Upon arrival on foot, they discovered the lifeless body of a teenage boy, fatally shot in a bold daylight attack. 

Police Press Liaison Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings was present at the scene.

A family member of the victim identified the teen as Chester Forbes Jr.

As for the older sibling, police say he manage to get away unharmed and is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.

As for who was the intended target? Investigators say they are uncertain.

Recent daylight shootings have raised concerns among residents who are becoming increasingly tired of ongoing violence. However, police maintain that these incidents are typically isolated. 

Nonetheless, there continues to be a plea for parents to teach their children conflict resolution skills.
