NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The local digital currency Sand Dollar was put to the test just recently when the International Cultural Wine and Food Festival abandoned cash, requiring patrons to use digital currency like the Sand Dollar.

More than $200,000 was spent at that event alone.

Central Bank’s Governor John Rolle is hoping the digital pay platform will become more popular.
