217 Haitian Migrants Apprehended At Sea

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – 217 migrants are in the custody of Immigration, after a U.S. Coast Guard cutter caught them six miles off Dog Rock.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two-hundred and 17 migrants are now in the custody of immigration, after a U.S. Coast Guard cutter caught them six miles off Dog Rock near Cay Sal Bank.

A Department of Immigration press release, confirming the group is in the capital following medical checks. The statement also says arrangements being made for a deportation.

Authorities say facilities at Matthew Town, Inagua are now operational should they see an increase in migrant interceptions.
