NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 24-year-old accused of having an AK-47 assault rifle has been granted bail under strict conditions.

Police arrested Verron Ferguson on January 8 after they allegedly found the assault rifle in the bedroom of his Balls Alley home.

Ferguson has denied the allegation at his arraignment before Magistrate Lennoz Coleby Sr.

Coleby set bail at $7,000 and has ordered Ferguson to keep a curfew, wear an ankle monitor and check in weekly with police.

Ferguson is also banned from associating with other people who are on bail.

His trial is set for April.
