UNITED STATES – Five fired Memphis police officers pleaded not guilty on Friday to second-degree murder and other charges stemming from the beating death of Tyre Nichols.

Police video captured images of the officers beating following a traffic stop on January 7th.

The case has renewed a national conversation about race relations and police brutality.

The five officers who were all fired are now on bail.
