50th CARICOM Heads of Gov’t Meeting Convenes in St. Kitts and Nevis in February

THE CARIBBEAN – The Caribbean Community is preparing for a landmark summit next month, as the 50th regular meeting of CARICOM heads of government opens Feb. 24 in Saint Kitts and Nevis.

The meeting, to be held in Basseterre, will be led by current CARICOM chair Dr. Terrance Drew under the theme “Beyond Words: Action Today for a Thriving, Sustainable CARICOM.”

Regional leaders will gather through Feb. 27 to discuss key issues, including climate financing, food security, regional security, transportation and reparations.

The summit will also feature international guests, including Saudi Arabia’s Adel Al-Jubeir and Afreximbank President George Elombi.
