Victim Testifies He Was Raped By Older Man

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man cried as he recalled how he was allegedly taken advantage of by an older man.

The now 23-year-old was testifying in Supreme Court trial of 51-year-old Marlin Newton.

The witness said that he found himself homeless after his mother kicked him out in March 2019.

The witness said a friend introduced him to Newton who gave him a place to stay.

The man said he lived with Newton for a month. He said he left because Newton wanted him to trade sex for shelter.

But the teen turned to Newton once again in August 2019 after he fell out with his roommate and was back on the streets.

He said that Newton gave him a place to stay and raped him.

Newton alleges that he and the teen had consensual sex. However, the age of consent for same sex relationships is 18.
