UNITED STATES – Amazon is cutting about 14-thousand corporate jobs as it doubles down on artificial intelligence investments.

In a letter to staff, Amazon said affected employees will have ninety days to find new roles internally or receive severance, outplacement support, and health benefits.

The cuts represent about four percent of Amazon’s corporate workforce.

CEO Andy Jassy says the company is investing aggressively in AI, including a new ten-billion-dollar campus in North Carolina.

Analysts say the layoffs mark a shift from human capital as Amazon competes with other tech giants.
