NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A mother-of-three who let a man put a loaded pistol in her purse has been granted bail before sentencing.

Brunia Alcindor, 35, pleaded guilty to possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition when she appeared before Magistrate Lennox Coleby Sr.

Police officers arrested Alcindor on January 31 at East Street after police officers found a silver and black .40 Smith and Wesson pistol along with five rounds of ammunution in her purse.

Alcindor has been given time to get her affairs in order before her sentencing on April 10.

Until then, she’s been freed on $9,000 bail. She will have to wear an ankle bracelet and sign in at the East Street South Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
