NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man has been acquitted of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2024 after his alleged victim never showed up to testify.
Justice Jeanine Weech-Gomez directed the nine-member jury to acquit 20-year-old Shaveney Taylor of unlawful sexual intercourse after prosecutors closed their case against him without calling the alleged victim.
Taylor was accused of having unlawful sexual relations with the minor on March 10, 2024.
