Bahamian Man Facing Deportation After No-contest Plea to Possessing Altered Firearm

UNITED STATES – A Bahamian man is facing deportation after he was sentenced to time-served after pleading no-contest to possess of an altered firearm.

39-year-old Marvin Clarke of Kemp Road, spent 86 days in the Broward County Jail following his arrest by Florida Highway Patrol on April 18th.

Officers stopped the truck that Clarke was a passenger in and found a 9mm pistol with its serial number erased in a locked box in the passenger compartment.

Officers also allegedly recovered eight other guns and approximately 15,000 rounds of ammunition inside storage containers on the truck’s bed.

Clarke did not face charges in relation to the contraband on the back of the truck.
