Court of Appeal Grants Suspect Accused of $18M Cocaine Seizure $20K Bail

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of an $18.4 cocaine seizure has been granted $20,000 bail by the Court of Appeal.

Zenard Rolle and four other men are accused of attempting to smuggle cocaine and marijuana into The Bahamas.

The plan was allegedly disrupted when the U.S. Coast Guard intercepted a Bahamian-registered boat off the coast of Cuba on December 7, 2024.

The officers seized 2,250 pounds of cocaine, 7 pounds of marijuana, and a .40 Smith & Wesson pistol during a search of the vessel.

Rolle was denied bail at his arraignment before a magistrate, and a supreme court judge also refused him bail.

The appeal court ordered rolle to wear an ankle bracelet and sign in at the Mangrove Cay police station three times a week.
