NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Christmas is only nine days away and there will be lots of gift giving. Especially for the little ones. But, have you ever wondered which toys are safe and which are not?

A local pediatrician shares the dangers of some toys and says parents should be on high alert as they shop this holiday season.

That’s Dr. Carlos Thomas, a pediatrician, who says a big concern is the size of a toy. Usually, families with older children have toys with small parts that are detachable.

He says those can be a choking hazard for infants and younger children, and he says most manufacturers give age limits for toys.

The doctor says parents, guardians  or any care taker should always supervise eating time as well as play time.
