NASSAU, BAHAMAS – There has been a lot of talk surrounding allegations against a sitting Member of Parliament.

Residents sounded off on the alleged rape and abuse allegations made against a sitting Member of Parliament.

It has been 12 days since news broke that a complaint was filed with the police.

So far, the Member of Parliament has not been brought in for questioning and no one has been charged for the alleged crime.

One resident says as a young Bahamian it’s disappointing to see a lack of accountability.

Wednesday morning Members of Parliament chose not to comment on the allegations.

This resident says it does not surprise her that no one is addressing the issue publicly.

A resident who chose to remain anonymous says no matter who, the investigations process should be fair for all.
