NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Attorney General Ryan Pinder says the Privy Council ruling on citizenship will impact the citizenship and immigration legislation.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Attorney General Ryan Pinder says the Privy Council ruling on citizenship will impact the citizenship and immigration legislation.
He says cabinet is set to discuss how they will evaluate the biological father of illegitimate children and discrimination against women passing on their citizenship.
It was just last week when the Privy Council ruled that a Bahamian man can pass his citizenship on to his out-of-wedlock child even if the mother is a foreign national.
The issue has been a sore point for many who found themselves in this situation.
The attorney general was also asked if the bill will address children born in The Bahamas to foreign parents.
