NASSAU, BAHAMAS – La playa, the government owned mansion and property just east of Goodman’s Bay is set to be re-developed by Bahamas Striping Group of Companies.

This, announcement Thursday by the company’s new General Manager, Melanie Roach.

Roach outlines the preliminary plans for the property which sat dilapidated and run down for years.

The mansion has been the source of controversy.

Back in 2021, then Prime Minister Dr. Hubert Minnis claimed in parliament that the Christie administration spent $10 million dollars of taxpayers’ money on a house for the Prime Minister to entertain guests.

Roach said the development has an aggressive 14 month timeline until completion.

But, when asked about the cost of the re-development, the general manager could not give a figure.
