NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The British Legion Bahamas Branch, an organization dedicated to highlighting the memory of World War II veterans from The Bahamas and their spouses, presented Marlena Leonard with a special award for her outstanding coverage of the British Legion, over the past few months.

Marlena has worked with the British Legion to showcase stories about the organization, the work they are doing, and some of the WWII veterans.

More recently, her story on a plague unveiling dedicated to a 100-year-old Eleuthera resident went global.

The story went viral, catching the attention of the British Legion in London, which wrote to the Bahamas Branch congratulating them for their work.

The organization presented her with a plaque, and by extension Our News for facilitating her ongoing work, on Wednesday.

Members of the Legion’s Executive Branch, along with Managers and Executives of Cable Bahamas Group of Companies and Our TV were also a part of the presentation.
