NASSAU, BAHAMAS – You may have noticed an unfamiliar boat in the Nassau harbour with the arrival of the USS Wasp.

And in case you were wondering what it’s like on the inside, we got a tour today lead by Liutenent Junior Grade Kevan Carr and Ensign Raymond Sgambati who helped us tour the well deck, part of what makes the assault ship amphibious, as well as the the bridge where Junior Officer Ens Arias told us what it was like navigating the Nassau harbour for the first time.

And for those Top Gun fans out there, we also got to check out the Wasp’s flight deck, which spans over 800 feet.

The Wasp’s commanding officer, Captain Nakia Cooper also took the time to speak to us.

But the biggest surprise of all, finding Lieutenant Treyvon Adderley, whose family was originally from The Bahamas.
