NASSAU, BAHAMAS – State Minister for Legal Affairs Jomo Campbell is speaking out about the burglary and sexual assault of an 82-year-old woman.

Campbell making it clear that these things have no place in Bahamian society.

Police arrested the 50-year-old suspect just a few hours following the incident on Tuesday adding that he has been in custody for similar offenses several times before now.

The incident happened around 1:40am.

The victim was asleep at her home off Wulf Road when she was awoken and assaulted by the man.
