LONG ISLAND, BAHAMAS – From Lucayan remains to one of the most famous blue holes in the world, this week the Our News team has been bringing us the many wonders of Long Island.

The day with Long Island Boat Rentals and Tours begins at Seaside Village – a second for this trip. From the dock, KC and 3-month-old Oreo wishing us luck on our way.

Our first stop – a mangrove waterway called The Snakes, which lucky for me who’s afraid of them, wasn’t named for an abundance of snakes. Captain Lindo Daxon explains.

Just moments after that, we learn a group of rays is called a fever, when we come across a fever of 8 rays.

And swimming pigs the way nature intended! Free to roam on a cay with hundreds of acres and a freshwater pond with “rolling around” mud. Thirteen pigs reside here; on our visit, three felt social.

Zoe tells us these tours aren’t cookie cutter replicas.
