NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With last year’s murder count ending in the triple digits and eight murders recorded so far this year, Bahamas Christian Council President Bishop Delton Fernander says it’s time for upstanding citizens to regain control of society.

His comments came during the police force’s annual church service at New Destiny Baptist Cathedral on Gladstone Road.

Pointing out suspects on bail are being murdered, Fernander also called for urgent reform in the country’s judicial system – a cry that is often echoed by police force officials.

While Prime Minister Philip Davis has suggested a national day of prayer, Fernander had this to say.
