NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Tuesday’s broad-daylight shooting of Edlin Severe on Hospital Lane marked the 25th murder of this year.

Our News was first on the scene, but many were surprised by the presence of an international media outlet, CBS.

Wednesday morning, Tourism Minister Chester Cooper says he’s not concerned by the presence of international press and their potential coverage.

And cooper tells media that his ministry has made efforts to ensure international media has the proper context of the situation.

The international press has placed a spotlight on the country’s crime problem ever since the U.S. Embassy in Nassau issued a security alert last month.

When asked if the tourism ministry maintains that crime will not have an impact on tourism.
