NASSAU, BAHAMAS – February 24th is 242 Day and if you missed it, that came as a proclamation in 2023 by Prime Minister Philip Davis.

242 Day aims to foster the spirit of patriotism while encouraging Bahamians to use their creativity and ingenuity to promote Bahamian pride.

The prime minister encourages Bahamians worldwide to display their national pride on this day by wearing flag colours or Bahamian prints, enjoying a delicious native dish, and enjoying Bahamian music, art, and entertainment.

We visited the nation’s tertiary institution – the University of The Bahamas, which also celebrates 50 years this year – to see how much the UB population knows about the 242.
