NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Association For The Physically Disabled serves as a daycare and special education center for the special needs youth of The Bahamas.

The school largely depends on private donations, but government does provide a stipend, their caregivers, and their teachers.

Shortly before his death, the late social services minister Obie Wilchcombe was working to help the BAPD to expand their school president of the BAPD, Charlotte Albury tells us.

Albury says that assistance and more space is vital for them to continue to do their work.

For now they are getting creative with their students, getting involved in things like sensory rooms and art therapy.

The BAPD president adds that they welcome international visitors to the school.

While the BAPD always values monetary donations, Albury says that is not the only way you can give back.
