NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The last time we spoke to Vanessa Rahming, she and her four children had been homeless and living between friends’ homes for almost a year.

But in just a few months, Vanessa’s story has turned from one of struggle into one of success. She now owns her own catering business, something she told us in our original interview was a dream of hers.

Since then, Vanessa has created a community and group chat for single mothers, and is hosting her very own Mother’s Day brunch this weekend.

Kerel Pinder met Vanessa as a stranger in her time of need, she says this Mother’s Day brunch is more than just an event for Vanessa.

The event also includes giveaways for the mothers.

Vanessa says she was moved by the outpouring of sponsors who have come forward for the event.

But she says there’s still time to support the mothers involved with donations of items like pampers and baby supplies.

And Vanessa has this message for those going through tough times.
