The New Mexico Junior College sophomore won the 400m title in 53.65 seconds at the NJCAA championships in West Monroe, Louisiana.

She also finished fourth in the 200M final in 23.82 seconds.

After two years at New Mexico JC, Cooper is headed to the Alabama Crimson Tide in the fall.

Track

Mullings recently competed at the Hypomeeting Gotzis in Austria, where he placed 8th overall with 8176 points – a new personal record.

The 30th edition of one of the world’s top combined events meets featured the biggest multi event stars on the circuit.

Mullings tied for the lead in the high jump at 2.03m.

He also had a top three finish in the 100m in 10.48 secs and in the 100m hurdles, he clocked 13.72 seconds to move him up to third overall at that point in the competition.

The next stop on the tour is the nordic combined events championships, June 15-16 in Iceland.

Baseball

Adari Grant saw his hot start to this season in single a baseball derailed by injuries, but now back on the field, he looks to regain that momentum.

Grant hit his first home run of the season for the Palm Beach Cardinals to break out of his recent hitting slump.

His solo shot in the fourth wasn’t enough though – the Cardinals lost 12-5 to the St. Lucie mets and are now 23-16 in the season.

Through the first six games of the season, grant hit .429 with four rbi and scored six runs.

He was placed on the injured list for the second half of April and when he returned to the field in May, he went hitless through the first four games before his homer against the Mets.

Basketball

Bradleon Mcdonald had the opportunity of a lifetime competing with the top high school basketball prospects in the region.

The Tabernacle Academy student was one of 60 players representing their respective countries at the 13th edition of the Basketball Without Borders Americas camp, hosted by the NBA and FIBA Sao Paolo, Brazil.

There have been 73 BWB camps in 49 cities across 33 countries on six continents.

The Bahamas hosted the event in 2017 when the local contingent included Kai Jones, Sammy Hunter and Dominick Bridgewater.
