Police: Parents, Don’t Be Afraid To Ask For Help
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A toddler found wandering alone near Jerome Avenue, prompted an urgent search for her parents on Tuesday morning. Now, police are calling for parents to secure their homes and ask for help when needed.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A toddler found wandering alone near Jerome Avenue, prompted an urgent search for her parents on Tuesday morning. Now, police are calling for parents to secure their homes and ask for help when needed.
Inspector Jewel Gray says officers then returned to the area where the girl was found, hoping to find someone missing a child or who recognized her, but with no success. That’s when this bulletin began circulating, and two hours later, the girl was found.
Police say the mother explained she was asleep at the time the toddler wandered out of the home, and as soon as she realized her daughter was gone, she began searching.
Inspector Gray’s advice to parents: Ensure windows and doors are closed and secured, even if it means having to add an additional lock higher up as small children get taller. Above all, she says it takes a village; don’t be afraid to ask for help.
