NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It’s a positive story about young men in our country; a coach and three of his athletes – all young men under the age of 20 who want to do something positive with their lives.

Meet Coach Deron Lightbourne – he’s the coach of Bahamas Speed Dynamics Track Club and he had three athletes participate and medal in last week’s CARIFTA Games.

For Lightbourne it goes beyond being a coach, and it even goes beyond the track and field.

Those three athletes are Otto Laing, Adam Musgrove and Lavardo Deveaux.

Otto got the gold in the U-20 Boys 110-meter hurdles, Adam won three medals – the bronze in the 100 and 200m and silver in the 4 x 100 meter relay and Lavardo won silver in the U-20 boys Octathalon.

All of them spoke to us about their preparation for CARIFTA.

Coach Lightbourne couldn’t be happier of the hard work the three young men have all put in.
