NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With Christmas In Pompey set to bring renewed energy to Downtown Nassau, local businesses are positioning themselves to turn holiday foot traffic into lasting engagement.

Just steps away from the cruise port, “I Dream Of Sugar” is expanding beyond sweets, blending Bahamian food, live entertainment, and cultural storytelling in support of the holiday festivities and the broader push to revive downtown.

Operations Manager Ingrid Higgs says the idea is simple, give people something to see, taste, and feel.

The live native show runs Thursday and Sunday nights, perfectly timed for the Christmas in Pompey festivities, giving downtown something it’s been missing after dark.

Higgs says it’s about more than entertainment, it’s about legacy.

Upstairs, the menu tells its own Bahamian story conch, oxtail, lobster, jerk, and Sunday brunch all designed to pull locals back downtown, especially during the holidays.

And Higgs says Christmas In Pompey is the perfect invitation.

She adds that holiday events can help reverse the trend of downtown going quiet once cruise ships leave.
