NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man accused of robbing a businessman and his wife during a home-invasion will remain behind bars pending his trial after a judge denied him bail.

Dominic Stuart, 29, faces charges of armed robbery and kidnapping in connection with the December 30, 2021 incident at the Westridge home of businessman Andrew Wilson.

Prosecutors say Stuart, while concerned with others, robbed Wilson of $25,000 in cash, a 2020 Honda Passport SUV worth $80,000, and an assortment of jewelry.

Stuart and his alleged accomplices are accused of kidnapping Wilson and his wife and taking them to their business at the Mall at Marathon, where they got an additional $40,000.

In denying bail, Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson noted that Stuart’s co-accused Randy Williams was murdered within months of him being freed on bail.Additionally, the judge said that Stuart’s trial is set for 2024 and that there had been no unreasonable delay in the case.
