NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two young men will stand trial after they denied involvement in the grisly murder of their father in Acklins.

Prosecutors allege that 24-year-old Shanton Ferguson shot and killed his father, Shawn Ferguson, 57, in his Mason’s Bay, Acklins, home on May 25, 2025 and cut off his head, while his 17-year-old brother is accused of helping him move and bury the body.

The young men pleaded not guilty to charges of murder and accessory after the fact to murder at their arraignment before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns.

A trial date is set for May 2028.
