NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A shocking discovery Saturday evening has left a community in disbelief, the decomposing remains of an infant found in an abandoned lot off Golden Isles Road.

As police continue their investigation, we spoke with social services officials and child advocates who say there needs to be more resources to combat the heartbreaking incidents.

Police say they were called to a vacant lot off sunny isles road, near Carmichael Road, on Saturday afternoon, where they found the remains of fetus.

Our News obtained the gruesome video, it showed the decompsing fetus with the umbilical cord still attached.

Gibson is urging women facing unplanned pregnancies to seek help instead of resorting to drastic measures.

Gabrielle Romer, assistant director at the department of social services with responsibility for child welfare, says this case underscores the need for greater awareness and support systems for expectant mothers.

The department of social services reminds the public of several support programs, including financial aid, counseling, and a national hotline available 24/7.
