GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Party supporters and eligible voters enduring the rain and cooler temperatures outside the Mt. Zion Baptist Church as they seek to cast their vote in the advanced poll for upcoming by-election.

But, the decision on who will be the best candidate to represent residents in the West Grand Bahama and Bimini constituency, not an easy one.

Several of those candidates, including the progressive liberal party’s Kingsley Smith Jr. and the Free National Movement’s Bishop Ricardo Grant, shared what they plan to bring to the community if elected on November 22nd.

For independent candidate Daquan Swain, he says he believes voters have had enough of voting for the two major parties.

As the youngest voter in the race, he says he wants voters to focus on his track record of community involvement and not his age.

Also looking to infiltrate the traditional two-party system, the Leader of the Coalition of Independents, Lincoln Bain.

He says he is confident that voters in the constituency are ready for change.

And although she recently announced her candidacy in the Elizabeth constituency, independent candidate Ternielle Burrows is also seeking to represent West Grand Bahama and Bimini.

She says she believes voters will select the best candidate.
