GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – It appears as if there has been an increase in criminals wearing ankle monitoring bracelets traveling to Grand Bahama to commit crimes. 

According to police, it’s now a trend – individuals wearing ankle monitoring bracelets traveling to other islands to commit crimes.

Commissioner of Police Clayton Fernander confirmed that individuals out on bail wearing ankle monitoring bracelets are required to stay in their jurisdiction.

As for how they are getting to Grand Bahama, he says the Royal Bahamas Police Force officers are looking into the matter.

He’s also sharing how they may get away with these crimes.

And as it relates to the high murder rate in the country, the commissioner says often, individuals receive bail and in no time they are killed.
