Antigua: No Homicides Recorded In First Quarter Of 2023

ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA – The year 2023 has started on a positive note for Antigua and Barbuda where homicides are concerned.

It can be noted that for the first time in at least the last three years, the country has recorded zero murders in the first quarter of the year.

From 2019-2021, there was at least one killing noted by the second month of the year.

Also of note, in 2022 there was 50 percent less incidents of murder than in 2021.

In 2021, a whopping 16 murders took place in Antigua, which has a population of about 100,000 people.

In 2022, there were only eight incidents of murder but in two instances two persons were murdered at the same time, making the total number of persons killed, 10.
