NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Mets first base coach Antoan Richardson has amassed an encyclopedia’s worth of knowledge on baseball since he began his journey in the game over two decades ago. This past week, he shared what he’s learned with the kids.

Baseball Camp

A couple dozen young athletes, aged 6 to 18, attended a winter baseball camp hosted by New York Mets first base coach, LDK Performance, and The Batter’s Box.

The campers learned the fundamentals of baseball, including hitting, fielding, and pitching, as well as how to prepare their minds and bodies for the game.

Coach Richardson was very pleased with the progress his young campers made.

Antoan has a few events lined up in the offseason. We talked about it in an interview last week if you want to check that out.

Youth camps are going on in a number of sports while the weather is mild and school is out. The Bahamas Football Association is also holding one.

Beach Soccer ID Camp Announced

An ID camp will be held next Saturday at the National Beach Soccer Stadium, located at the foot of the Sir Sidney Poitier Bridge on East Bay Street.

At the camp, players aged 16 and up will have the chance to showcase their skills in front of national team coaches and scouts, with the opportunity to earn a spot on the team.

The Beach Soccer Squad is arguably our nation’s best adult team, ranked 5th in CONCACAF as of earlier this year. The upcoming tryout reflects their commitment to finding and developing new talent.
