NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamas Union Of Teachers Belinda Wilson, calling for immediate disciplinary action against Financial Secretary Simon Wilson.

A day after a heated confrontation between the top civil servant and Nassau Guardian reporter Youri Kemp.

Wilson, confronting Kemp at press briefing after kemp asked a question which Wilson claims “called him a liar”.

The situation then escalating to the point where Economic Affairs Minister Michael Halkitis stepped between the two.

The union president calling into the Guardian radio show “morning blend” this morning alleging a similar run-in with the financial secretary after he arrived late to a scheduled meeting.

President Wilson says she wrote a letter to Prime Minister Philip Davis about the incident following the meeting.

She is now calling for disciplinary action. We attempted to get a response from Kemp’s employers, the Nassau Guardian, who declined to comment. Calls to Simon Wilson were not returned.
