NASSAU, BAHAMAS – What was supposed to be a joyous occasion, ended in tragedy as the country’s latest homicide unfolded during a baby shower in Nassau Village last night. Police say two men armed with handguns exited a gray Nissan Note and opened fire on the crowd leaving a man dead and four juveniles injured.

It was a sorrowful scene at the country’s latest homicide in Nassau Village on Sunday night. The incident unfolding shortly before 9 PM at a baby shower. The young expectant mother, who chose to remain anonymous, says it was the scariest moment of her life. She says she fell trying to get away.

Today, all that remained was a few decorations and bullet ridden decorative chairs, a stark reminder that a life was cut short the night before.

Family members would only identify the victim as Jorodly. They also said he was 22-years-old.

Speaking to reporters on the scene, Chief Superintendent and Communications Officer, Chrislyn Skippings is appealing to the public to reach out to the police department.
