NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Academy that sits on Marshall Road, wasn’t always what it is today. For years, the school fell to the back burner and began to deteriorate but, newly appointed Vice President of the General Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventists Pastor Leonard Johnson, lead the charge to make major improvements while in the position as President of the Bahamas Conference. He says he wanted to make the promised land project a priority.

Although the idea originated with previous leaders, Pastor Johnson and his administration pursued the vision — even with insufficient funds. It was a mission fueled by faith.

Johnson says God sent Tom Hannah, owner of heavy-duty machinery, to cut the foundation.

Although a major milestone had been achieved, Johnson and his team were still in great need of help. That’s when the Volunteer Bahamas Adventists was created a labor, technical skills and gifts, all available at little to no cost.

The new Bahamas Academy is complete and able to comfortably educate its children in excellence and with a sense of pride.
