Bahamas Women’s National Beach Soccer Team to Compete at 2025 North American Sand Soccer Championships

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Football Association (BFA) announces that the Bahamas Women’s National Beach Soccer Team will participate in the prestigious North American Sand Soccer Championships (NASSC), scheduled for June 6–8, 2025, in Virginia Beach, VA.

This marks the team’s return to international competition following a year dedicated to training and development.

As of May 2025, the Bahamas women’s beach soccer team is ranked 13th globally by Beach Soccer Worldwide and holds the 5th position within the CONCACAF region. These rankings reflect the team’s consistent efforts and growing presence in the international beach soccer community.

In March 2024, the team competed in the El Salvador Beach Soccer Cup, where they gained valuable experience against high-caliber opponents. Later in 2024, the team represented the Bahamas at the FISU World University Championship Beach Sports in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, competing against top university teams worldwide and demonstrating significant growth and resilience.

Under the guidance of Head Coach Daria Adderley, Assistant Coach LaShane Dean, and Team Manager Ariell Rolle, the squad traveling to Virginia Beach includes:

“The athletes have trained consistently and diligently over the past year. This tournament provides an important benchmark for us, allowing the team to evaluate our progress and gain valuable experience,” said Head Coach Daria Adderley. “We aim to represent The Bahamas with pride and competitiveness.”

The team departs Nassau today, Thursday, June 5th, 2025, and will compete in two matches on Friday, June 6th, followed by one match on Saturday, June 7th. Teams advancing from group play will compete in the semi-finals.

The NASSC is widely recognized as the world’s largest sand soccer festival, featuring professional and amateur teams from North America and international teams across youth, adult, and co-ed divisions. Hosted annually by the Hampton Roads Soccer Council, the event emphasizes community, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit.
