NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After more than five years on the run, 33-year-old Bahamian Tomal Bowe faces charges of felony fleeing and eluding, grand theft auto, resisting without violence, possession of marijuana and multiple out-of-county warrants following his arrest the week prior.

According to First Coast News, around 3:45 p.m. on Dec. 4, St. Johns County, Florida, deputies stopped a driver on I-95 near Mile Marker 331.

But the driver fled, leading police on a high-speed chase.

During the pursuit, Bowe crashed his car into a guardrail.

Bowe allegedly stole a van from a business and fled again.

But Bowe lost that vehicle after stop sticks were deployed on US 1 and he fled into the woods along the highway, according to media reports.

He was captured with the help of a K-9.

Bowe escaped from the Carmichael Road Police Station on March 1, 2020 after asking to use the bathroom.

He was being questioned concerning a smash-and-grab robbery at the Rolex Boutique at Atlantis.
