NASSAU, BAHAMAS – COVID-19 hit our educational system hard. Students and teachers faced a lot of changes, at times struggling to keep up and keep pace. A young Bahamian educator used the challenges to breathe new life into the system with her own tutoring business.

Kelton’s company is called “The Total Tutor”. She recently launched a summer program in hopes of addressing learning disparities created by COVID-19.

Not only is she reacquainting students with an intimate, inclusive learning environment, but Kelton also hopes to give them something she never had as a young student: confidence.

Tenacity and passion drives this young Bahamian educator, despite the dismal stereotypes often placed on teaching.
