Bahamians Hoop In The NCAA

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA – New Providence-born Sam Hunter had what was easily one of his best games of the season for his Akron Zips, scoring 17 points along with 4 rebounds to help his team get a 77-66 win in some action against Western Michigan.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA – New Providence-born Sam Hunter had what was easily one of his best games of the season for his Akron Zips, scoring 17 points along with 4 rebounds to help his team get a 77-66 win in some action against Western Michigan.

AJ Storr also played in the BIG10 for the Wisconsin Badgers. He had 20 points and 5 rebounds along with 2 assists. Unfortunately, they were not able to overcome the Penn State Nittany Lions, falling 87-84.

Baseball

Bohan Adderley, a  17-year-old shortstop and third baseman is now officially part of the New York Mets organization.

He signed just before 8pm Tuesday.

Adderley is the fifth Bahamian for the week to sign with a MLB team. Jovado Bain signed with the Toronto Blue Jays Monday evening.

While a trio of 17-year-olds – Trent Wilson, Edwin Darville and Tavano Baker – all signed with the Boston Red Sox.

Volleyball

The UB volleyball squad came through with a clutch win to keep themselves in playoff contention over the weekend, sweeping the Poppers in straight sets: 25-19, 25-16 and 25-18.

Shanyiah Bowe was more than thrilled for the win.
