Bail Denied for Man Charged With New Year’s Eve Double Shooting

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man is facing charges after police say he shot his mother’s boyfriend and a teenage girl during an argument at his home in Pinewood Gardens.

Nari Forbes, 23, made his first court appearance before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley on Tuesday in connection with the double shooting on New Year’s Eve.

Forbes is accused of the attempted murder of Kevin Tynes and Tynes’ 15-year-old cousin. He’s further charged with possession of a firearm to endanger their lives.

Forbes was not required to enter pleas to the charges and bail was denied.

The matter was adjourned to May 7 for the presentation of voluntary bill of indictment papers.
