Bail Granted for Murder Suspect After 3-Year Prison Stint

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 22-year-old man who spent almost three years in prison awaiting trial on murder and attempted murder charges has been granted $15,000 bail. 

Omar Daniels is charged with the November 4, 2020 shooting death of Dwight Williams and the attempted murders of Laurent Harrison and Kareem Maynard.

Police said the men were outside a home at Peter Street when two gunmen exited a car and fired at them.

As part of his bail terms, Daniels must wear an ankle bracelet, keep a curfew and sign in at a police station.

His trial is scheduled for February 25, 2024.
