Bail Set at $9K for Man Charged With Unlawful Sexual Intercourse With a Minor

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A man who was arrested after police allegedly caught him having sex with a young girl pleaded not guilty at his arraignment today.

Derek Dauphin, 43, of Claridge Road, faced a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse at his arraignment before Magistrate Abigail Farrington.

His bail was set at $9,000 and his trial is set for June 11.

At around 9pm on February 22, police on patrol saw a car in a vacant lot at Andros Avenue and Hepburn Alley.

When they checked the vehicle, they allegedly found a 14-year-old girl on top of Dauphin.

The girl could not legally consent to the act because she is under 16.
