CARIFTA Triathlon
Team Bahamas competed in the 2023 CARIFTA Triathalon over the weekend, finishing up third place overall, a tremendous improvement on their 5th place finish last year in Bermuda.

The event was held at Goodman’s Bay right here in New Providence.

Barbados won the event, repeating their win from last year while Berumda came in second place.

Trinidad and Tobago was right behind The Bahamas in 4th place and Aruba came 5th.

The 2024 games will be held next year in Grenada.

Look for Team Bahamas to improve even more next year.

Basketball

Jonquel Jones and the WNBA east-leading Liberty will go against the Las Vegas Aces at Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn.

JJ and the Liberty are 27-7, the second-best record in the league behind the Aces. The Liberty also handed the aces two losses in the same week two weeks ago before the Aces came back last Friday to beat the Liberty Friday August 17th, the Liberty’s only loss int he past 9 games.

JJ is averaging 12 points and 8 rebounds this year but her numbers are down because of her slow start with a fractured foot.
