NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Field events have risen to the forefront in Bahamian athletics, recently and Blue Chip Athletics looks to further that development by finding more diamonds in the rough.

The club is hosting a week long javelin throwers camp at the Thomas A. Robinson Stadium in conjunction with the Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture, along with the Norwegian Cruise line.

Blue Chip Athletics have produced several national record holders and head Corrington Maycock looks to continue that trend.

Campers have an opportunity to learn from two of the leading javelin throwers in the country, Dior-Rae Scott and Taysha Stubbs.

Scott is a CARIFTA Games gold medalist and national record holder while Stubbs, also a CARIFTA Games medalist is headed for the world under 20 championships next month.

Both athletes have committed to the university of Lincoln Nebraska where, Blup Chip Alumni Rhema Otabor recently set a new NCAA record and qualified for the Paris Olympics.

The camp is free of charge for all attendees and runs through Friday from 9am – 1pm.
